Synopsis:
It is not clear whether this waltz has anything in common with stock exchange transactions. The title page of the sheet music shows Cupid bringing the hands of two lovers together. When Josef Strauss wrote this waltz, he was severely affected by his headache and had to go on vacation. Before leaving, he performed this enchanting waltz on August 2, 1865 in the Volksgarten.
