Japan Day or Japan Tag / 日本デー in Düsseldorf, Germany, is a unique cultural festival. Every year it attracts several hundreds of thousands of visitors who want to experience the Japanese flavour of the Düsseldorf and enjoy the grand finale: A spectacular fireworks display (Hanabi or 花火) which is provided by Japanese pyrotechnicians who come all the way to Germany: Hideki Kubota and his colleagues Natsuko Oi and Aya Takasaki. In this video you will see the complete fireworks show in May 2022 from beginning to the end. The motto for this year’s magnificent spectacle was “Together for Peace and Friendship”.

After the Japan Tag was cancelled 2 times in the past years, more than 600.000 visitors from home and abroad had the chance to enjoy a diverse range of presentations and entertainment, such as traditional music and dance programs, samurai presentations, sake seminars, calligraphy lessons, kimono fittings, Japanese board games, Manga stands and mouthwatering Japanese food such as sushi, sashimi and tempura. Traditional culture, modern Japanese pop culture and typical sports was presented on three stages.
