The 1997 film "Pronto" is based on the book by Elmore Leonard, one of the greatest pulp fiction crime writers of all time. It's the first film appearance of Raylan Givens as portrayed by James Le Gros, a magnificent "everyman" actor for almost four decades. Le Gros does Givens as the novel portrayed, an easy going and slow witted country bumpkin that friends & criminals underestimate, and some learn a lesson they don't live long enough to profit from. Le Gros is a thespian chameleon, and his role in "Drugstore Cowboy" is especially choice! Peter Falk, Glenne Headly, Glenn Plummer, and Luiz Guzman round out the magnificent cast, and it's a delightful treat. Enjoy!
