You could say the new ‘75’ models are just special edition FTypes and nothing more. But there’s something far more romantic going on here as

Jaguar is pulling on every petrolhead's heartstrings with the FType P450 75 and FType R 75, for they represent the final iteration of the FType sports car. Jag's gorgeous twoseater will be killed off in 2024 to make way for the brand's reinvention as a pureelectric carmaker in 2025.

The FType's death closes a chapter on Jaguar’s illustrious sports carmaking business that started with the XK120 75 years ago in 1948, and has included Le Manswinning C and Dtypes, and of course the epochal Etype of 1961.

I have long been a fan of the FType. I remember driving one a couple of months after it launched in 2013, and through my job as a motoring journalist I have driven many over the years. It holds a special place in my heart.

I was invited to drive the 75 editions in 2023 – a special moment for me. Here's my last drive in the Jaguar FType – I hope you enjoy it.
