Yesterday, I captured Jackie shopping at the Stick Depot Snag tree on Cam 2 before she flew in to deliver her new piece of furniture to the nest. She broke it right off from the top branch like a pro! Another reason she deserves the name Lumber Jackie. She might be ready to decorate the Penthouse for Fall soon!

She didn't bother with arranging the new furniture, so maybe she is going to wait for Branch Manager Shadow to give his input on that piece.‍♂ Her visit was quick, she also gave us a little closeup before she left through the back door to meet up with Shadow on their favorite Roost tree for the night. I captured some vocalizing from both Jackie and Shadow awhile later that was easily heard from the sensitive camera microphone on Cam 1. I just love that sound!!

Fiona must've took that as a cue the coast was clear on the nest to perform another sneaky night inspection of the nestorations in progress. Not much done yet as we are still technically in off season but I think she notices when somethings changed. In that case, you never know if there are snackies hidden around the Penthouse. Maybe a little gift for the cleaning crew? She took extra long on that inspection but nothing worth while. Hopefully soon, sweet cheeks, but not yet.❤

Serious nestorations usually start end of October into November and egg watch will begin in January sometime. For now we get these fun short visits to enjoy! Thank you to Friends of Big Bear Valley for allowing us this window into their lives year round.
