Last spring, we built what we thought was the Ultimate Mobile Chicken Tractor complete with a coop and nesting box area. We used for the better part of last year, to "move" our egg laying chicken flock around the yard every couple of days. This kept them on fresh grass all year, and they absolutely loved it. Late in the season however, the fatal flaw revealed itself. The axles with a single wheel, did not have enough strength to hold up the weight of the thing. I replaced the angled board once last year to try to fix it, but they just broke again. So this year, I'm making a modification, and adding a second set of wheels instead of 1 on each side, there will be 2. This will spread the weight across the axle, instead of having all the weight on one end. Looking back, I probably should have designed it this way from the beginning.
