#9 It’s Time To Sow Cucurbits And Beans! (this video)

It’s finally time to sow the last of our flowering veg, these are the fast growers and they are the cucurbits and the beans. The types of veg that fall into the cucurbit family include: cucumbers, summer squash (such as courgettes and patty pans), winter squash (where the skins harden and you can store them), pumpkins, gourds and melons.

Questions I answer in Episode 9:

When should I sow cucurbits and beans? 1:20
How many cucurbits should I grow? 3:26
How to sow cucurbits? 6:41
How to germinate cucurbits? 10:21
What happens next? 12:12

We have now sown all the flowering veg that are suitable for growing in pots!

For the rest of the growing season the tutorials will cover: the hardening off process, how to plant out our veg plants and provide supports, how to look after our plants outside for the rest of the growing season, how to pinch out tomato side shoots, how to save seed to sow next year, how and when to harvest and more.
