It's not Always Easy But It's Always an Adventure | BC Flooding Evacuation | Destination Adventure

Over the past couple of months, I have been working long days on the motorhome, preparing for my journey south for the winter. I had a full list of projects, and nearly all of them were completed, but I had to make a last minute decision to leave the Cariboo and start my travels south. The forecast was showing rain in the lower mainland, and that typically means snow back home, and it was necessary I get out before the snow arrived. Little did I know, the lower mainland was about to get a record amount of rain, and it would lead to some horrific land slides, floods and washouts. I was incredibly lucky with my passage, as I missed one slide by about an hour, and a second by less than an hour. I had three long days in the Hope and Abbotsford area doing what I could to keep water out of the motorhome and continue my way towards the border, and I was fortunate to get across just in time. I was thankful to be in a motorhome, because I can cross some pretty deep sections of water, and many times it was up to the belly of the motorhome, but I saw many cars with water coming right over the hood. Watching the news now, things have not improved back in BC. Every highway going from Vancouver, to any other part of the country is now washed out, or blocked by a land slide. This is bad news for the lower mainland, but it is even worse for the rest of the province, for nearly all of the food and supplies come through the port of Vancouver. Grocery stores were nearly empty within days of the news, and hundreds of people are still trapped. This video is a very small glimpse, of what is now a very large problem. I hope everybody is safe, and I hope that those who have the ability to help are doing so.

The motorhome has taken on quite a lot of water through this passage, and I am so thankful to the folks on my Patreon, because I am able to afford my repairs and continue on with the adventure.
