The prestigious Juilliard School of Music has recently come under scrutiny from the media due to the controversial tuition freeze protest held the second week of June, reaching as far as TwoSetViolin. While Juilliard certainly isn't the magical place it has been made out to be by pop culture in the past, it isn't the evil institution it has recently been painted as. To find the middle ground, I list the pros and cons of studying at Juilliard based on my firstyear experience there and evaluate whether or not I believe studying at Juilliard is worthwhile.

I tried to be as neutral as possible in my evaluation, but of course many of the things I discuss are based on my opinion and it is fair to disagree with me on any of these issues.
