Is it Comfortable? | Royal Enfield Shotgun FAQ #5

MotorInc

Do not buy the Royal Enfield Shotgun thinking you're getting a comfortable motorcycle. It's better than the Super Meteor for sure, but it's far from what you can call comfortable. Three things to keep in mind. First, the limited suspension travel at both ends of the Shotgun create a fairly stiff and harsh riding experience and like the Super Meteor but to a slightly lesser extent, the Shotgun needs smooth roads to really feel comfortable. You can learn to live with it, but fundamentally comfortable it is not. Second, the flatbar style, midmounted pegs and controls and the rider's seat is a combination that won't feel as natural as it looks in the photos naturally. The presentation, as it were, is greater than the utility. Again, you can get used to it but in comparison, the Super Meteor and the Interceptor both have more naturally comfortable seating positions. Third, I'd like to take a moment to remind you that we approach a lot of motorcycles from the angle of what can it do. A lot of what the Shotgun can do is directly connected to how it looks and that nontangible aspect of ownership. The form here is far more important than the function and that is why the comfort story seems to weak.
