Is CLEVELAND OH a hidden gem? // BVX Family Explores

Cleveland is not the city where you’ll find a bar hidden inside an industrial freezer, or an exclusive masquerade ball in an abandoned warehouse. Part of Cleveland’s charm is its inclusivity. If there’s something going on, you’re invited! But in a city with so much to do, there’s always a few hidden gems that aren’t on the radar quite yet.
Enjoying Cleveland doesn't have to be expensive. The city has beautiful parks, fascinating shops, and free days at museums.

Cleveland's Lake View Cemetery, opened in 1869, is the final resting place for important Clevelanders, such as John D. Rockefeller, President James A. Garfield, Jeptha Wade (the cemetery's first president), and Carl B. Stokes (Cleveland's first black mayor).
The elaborate stone monuments kept a generation of Italian stonecutters in business. Make sure to see the Garfield Monument and the Wade Chapel with its Tiffany window.

A huge part of why we decided to hit the road with our 2 kids and start traveling full time is that we knew that actually visiting historic sites and experiencing the world first person would deepen their appreciation and understanding exponentially. This is what some of us in the homeschooling community call Roadschooling. Roadschooling is hitting the road and educating your children through experiences and interactions with the world. After the kids see and learn things they might go home and investigate things further if they are interested and excited. It also fits into the category of Worldschooling or Unschooling. Check out what a day of roadschooling looks like while we're ON THE ROAD!
