The US has reportedly acquired 81 obsolete Sovietera combat aircraft from Kazakhstan. According to Kyiv Post, the declared sale value was $2.26 million in total with the average value for each plane being $19,300. The deal came after the Kazakh government advertised the sale of 117 fighter and bomber aircraft acquired when it was a part of the Soviet Union. These Cold Warera aircraft were put up for sale in October 2023 due to their obsolescence and the uneconomical nature of their repair. Kazakhstan has been gradually replacing its outdated fleet of Sovietmade combat aircraft with modern jets. Watch the video to find out more.
