Installing Concrete Ties on the LIRR Port Jeff Branch

Hey guys! I recently changed my name from PWH1826 to LIRR Trainspotter, so if you don't recognize the name that's probably why.

On August 22, 2020, the LIRR planned on replacing older wooden ties with newer concrete ones along the Port Jeff branch. Since it was happening at Northport, I knew a bunch of spots I could go to see them work on the tracks. In this video you will see different types of Harsco equipment, and how it replaces the old ties with the new ones. I chased this train around all day, but it was definitely worth it to see this cool MOW equipment in action. The engineer didn't really want to be filmed, so I tried my best to leave him out of this video...

Earlier today I had gone out to Greenlawn and gotten video of this train switching out of the second track, and a friendly crew member jokingly asked me, "how did you know where we were going to be?" Later on that day when I took this video, the same worker pulled up in his truck right next to me. He got out and gave me a brand new LIRR tee shirt and hat, which was really cool! I told him that I was going to post this video onto youtube, and gave him my channel name. So if you're watching this, I just wanted to say thanks for being so friendly!
