Had to turn off the comments on this one because people were getting into arguments over right/wrong. I know this building very well and if the standpipe is full of sewer water I can place my snake on either side of the cleanout and determine without even looking into the cleanout which way the snake is going. a 4" two way clean out has a lot of space in the fitting and based on the direction of which the snake is bending I know which direction the snake is going. Also, the root intrustion is literally 12 inches away from this cleanout so it will not be hard to tell if I got the clog or not.
