Making Red Velvet Cake for a big Birthday surprise! I may of hit a few roadblocks, but the end result was something to be remembered. Personally, baking this cake was an experience...an ODYSSEY!

So I followed two recipes for this one.
Recommended recipe for cake and frosting:    • Best Ever Red Velvet Layer Cake Recip...  
cake:
355g plain flour
25g cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
70g buttermilk
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp red food colouring (paste of liquid....I'd try paste)
375g soft butter
405g sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp baking soda
Cream cheese frosting
150g soft unsalted butter
240g cream cheese
960g icing sugar, sifted
