Which parrot speaks more Ringneck or Alexandrine parrot
Some people cannot even differentiate between Indian ringneck and Alexandrine parrots. This video is for people who are planning to get a parrot and are confused about which one is the best pet bird !

Even though both Indian Ring neck and Alexandrine look similar, there are differences that will be highlighted in this video to help you choose one or the other as your pet depending
upon your liking.

Indian Ringneck and Alexandrine are excellent pets and are known to be very friendly & intelligent.
They are not just good looking and active birds, they are also known to be talkers and there
are birds who can remember and speak up almost 200 words of our language.

Alexandrine parrots are easily identified by their massive upper red beaks. In comparison, the Indian Ringneck has a smaller beak.

Identification using color on the wings

Alexandrines have marooncoloured patches seen on their wings.
There are no maroon markings on thewings of Ringneck parrot.

Size Difference

Alexandrine parrot is larger in size than Indian Ringneck
measuring around 23 inches in size with a large wingspanof 8 inches. Indian ringneck is about 16 inches in size. 8 ounce average, up to 15 inches long, wingspan 67 inches

Tail Length

Alexandrine Parrots tail length 8 14 inches.
Indian ringneck Parrot tail length 610 inches.

Life Span if Parrots

Alexandrine Parrots :
25 30 years. 
Indian ringneck :
Average of 20 years. 

Neck Rings

In the case of Alexandrine adult males have a black and rosecolored ring around their necks. Females are the same color without the neck rings.

Male Indian Ringnecks have three bands of color around their necks. The black ring develops at about 18 months, and blue and pink rings appear by the time they reach 3 years old. Females, while still beautiful, lack the facial and collar bands, although some do display a slight darkening of color around their necks.

Alexandrine parakeets are playful and can be quite talkative.

This bird can be a wonderful family pet. Alexandrines are loyal birds, and often bond with multiple
family members, unlike a few other species.

Even though Indian ringneck parrots are bit nippy, They are very friendly & social if trained
properly. They get bored very quickly and will often start chewing, plucking feathers
and other destructive behaviors if they feel neglected.

Alexandrine requires a larger cage than Indian Redneck as it is not only bigger; it likes to engage in a lot more activities than Indian Ringneck.
