Tamlan Dipper is a British author who works as an engineering analyst. His inspirations for the story, apart from the Mythos, were George MacDonaldFraser, G.K. Chesterton, and Raymond Chandler. An excellent biography of the real von UngernSternberg is The Bloody White Baron, by James Palmer he was far more bonkers and unsavoury than even this story implies (The Baron, not James Palmer). This was Tamlan's first published short story, but he is a keen creator of Call of Cthulhu, the tabletop roleplaying game.
Tamlan is currently supporting the Hospitallers for Ukraine: https://www.hospitallers.org.uk
