Pico island in the Azores (Açores) is the youngest of all the islands in the Portuguese archipelago, and the most volcanic of them all, dominating the nature and the way of life on this extraordinary island.

This is PART 2 of the Azores series, and this explores Pico's landscapes and treasures, including the scenic and gastronomic pleasures of Madalena, the majestic Mount Pico and the lava caves of Grutas das Torres. Ultimately, this goes indepth with Pico's greatest treasure a winemaking culture and tradition that's one of the most unique in the world, featuring the stunning UNESCO World Heritage site of Criação Velha, where most of the island's oldest vineyards are planted in labyrinthine lava walls, producing wines unlike anything you've ever tasted and experienced.
