By using modern machinery and your own imagination, you really can create a deer mecca or at least a wayaboveaverage deer hunting property with diligence, education, experience, vision and modern machinery and technology. Join me for today's 'Plan B' land improvement project series as I work on creating an incredible Southern Illinois deer hunting opportunity by salvaging an old, home made wooden deer tower and moving it from the 110 acre Southern Illinois hunting land parcel that we just sold, and moving it to the remaining 22 acre Southern Illinois hunting land parcel that we still own. The first phase of this land improvement project was to move it with my KIOTI RX7320 with pallet fork extensions just to get it to the deep woods micro food plot for deer, which was a challenge in and of itself. Here is the link to that land improvement project video:

Don't ask me how we BOTH missed the big tree that I was about to hit! YEP, IT STARTED OUT AS 'ONE OF THOSE DAYS..' But for today's episode join Sharon and I in the field on our Southern Illinois farm as we try to save some money and salvage a very old, and VERY HEAVY home made wooden deer tower. We recently sold 110 acres of our Southern Illinois hunting land and this was one of the 2 deer towers that was on the property when we bought it about 7 years ago. The new property owner told me that I could keep this old wooden deer tower and I jumped at the chance. After all, a new deer tower, depending on brand and so forth can run over $3,000 now! So let's break out the KIOTI RX7320 powershuttle cab tractor, after it's been sitting all winter and fall, and try to make this DIY deer tower move a success! We had some fun and sunshine in the field even though it was still pretty cold for a late March 2024 day on the farm!
