There are so many barn owls in my garden it can be really difficult to tell who's who. Not only are the main characters that bred here this year difficult to spot, but there are also at least four other wild barn owls that appear most nights to try to distinguish them from.

In this video I select the main characters whose stories we have been following on the live cams and point out the different markings and individual behavioural patterns to help you to tell the barn owls apart.

It's not easy, and sometimes even I get things wrong as you'll see here I sometimes even mistake the sexes of some barn owl chicks!
