I originally wrote this scene as a scene to show Zoe first seeing Charlie in a different light, matching a similar moment he has with her in the following scene. Alas, there were too many unfixable variables (color temperatures due to time, lack of certain shots we needed for the blocking to really work, and most importantly, it was deemed unnecessary to the overall plot) and we did away with the scene. There are still quite a lot of things I like about this scene, like another Taylor Swift reference on Charlie's shirt, Zoe smiling for the first time in the movie timeline, and two talented young child actors I hope to work with again in the future.
