This is my least functional and probably most annoying project to clean so far, but we'll see how it goes long term! I always planned for some sort of garden under the stairs, and I've been wanting to bring more Japanese design into our home. Most traditional Japanese designs tend to look "oldfashioned" to Jun so it's fun for me to try to integrate them in ways that feel modern to him while still representing a blend of our cultures. It's made to be removable so if it ends up being annoying to keep up with we can easily just put the rocks outside in our garden. But the area is now nicely organized instead of the random item storage that it was becoming and we think it looks amazing!!
