I.O.I.S. stands for "Integrated Operational Intelligence System." In 1967 during the Vietnam War it was the U.S. Navy's Topic Secret Intelligence gathering and mission planning unit using state of the art computer systems for analysis and mission plotting. This video (Part 1 of 3) shows the initial steps of mission planning and gives an overview of the various elements active in I.O.I.S. operations Information was gathered from photo reconnaissance & radar detection flights and integrated with Intel from foreign & domestic intelligence services like the C.I.A to identify targets or areas for further analysis.
