BEFORE she lost weight, Nakeshia felt like she was settling for ‘bottom of the barrel boys’. The 27yearold from Gary, Indiana had zero selfconfidence and would always avoid mirrors. At her heaviest weight of 240lbs in 2017, Nakeshia suffered a ‘skin crawling’ ankle break that made her reassess her lifestyle and begin her weight loss journey. Nakeshia began building her endurance and found a passion for outdoor running and focused on a diet of moderation rather than restriction. In less than four years, Nakeshia lost 107lbs. She has found her confidence and someone who values her and is in a happy relationship with boyfriend Seth. Nakeshia told Truly: “I am so much more confident about my body now; I feel strong, I feel empowered, I feel beautiful. The confidence level that I have now versus where I was, it's in two different stratospheres.”
