This is a mistake I won't be making again. Forgetting to bid is one of the worst mistakes you can make as an airline pilot because your entire month is based around a flight schedule. Days on/off, pay, and overnights are all determined by your awarded line. I went from being a senior lineholder to a pilot on reserve, with minimum pay credit, midweek days off, and multiple airport standby shifts. Long story short, it's 100% my fault that I forgot to bid. Fortunately, the month didn't turn out as bad as it could have. DON'T be like me... Always submit your bid on the first day that your airline's bidding window opens.
