My sister and I fell in love with a $300 BHLDN wedding veil and I DIYed it for $20! Sewing the pearl beads took the most time, but honestly it was a really relaxing activity I enjoyed doing every night. You can make this veil with or without the pearl beads, just give yourself enough time if you’re planning on adding the beads! (I sewed for an hour or two at a time, about 23 nights each week, for 2 months lol. I purposefully started this project early so I wasn’t rushing and I had plenty of time. I would put FRIENDS on tv and sew while I was watching. It was a great way to wind down at night time!) Be sure to watch til the end to see my beautiful sister in her custom made veil on her wedding day : )

You will need
tulle or mesh fabric (see below for measurements)
hair comb
thread
needle
cutting board and rotary cutter or very sharp scissors
3 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm pearl beads

Tulle/mesh length needed (width of fabric should be at least 63 inches, but for a more full veil you can get “double width tulle)

ankle: 70 inches + 5 inches extra**
chapel: 90 inches + 5 inches extra**
