We often pay attention to men's shirts. They are made of good fabric, have a beautiful print, you just want to pick it up and alter it for yourself. Especially if the item has become too small for the husband, then you definitely need to give it a second chance.
If you dream up a man's style, you can remake it so that it becomes purely feminine. And don’t let the clasp on the other side bother you, it doesn’t matter.
Check out this alteration method where even a small shirt size can be altered several sizes larger. At the same time, the style will change and become different.
To remake it, you need to select other fabrics that will be combined; if you wish, you can choose different colors, textures, and add lace.
Several different fabrics can decorate a thing, make it more original and interesting. Two or three patterns will be enough.
Master Class:
I straightened the shirt, drew a straight line on the sides from the armhole points, the length is arbitrary. I cut out a shirtfront along these lines.
I cut out strips from colored fabric, 12 cm wide. I stitched them to the shirt on the front and back.
Now the sleeves will be onepiece, like a bat. To do this, I folded the prepared fabric and applied it to the shirt.
The folds are on the shoulder line. At this stage, the new parts can be made of any width; the future size of the new shirt will depend on this.
I unfolded the piece and sewed the same colored stripe to the sleeve as on the shirtfront. I attached these side pieces to the shirt.
I sewed each seam with a finishing stitch.
I cut off the lower part with the cuff from the shirt sleeve.
I stitched it to a new place.
The bottom of the shirt will remain the same.
But I made it a little wider to put folds in the front.
To increase the width I used fabric from the sleeves.
A completely different shirt.
Thus, in one product you can combine completely different types of fabrics and this will become the highlight of the new thing.
All the best!
