The good news is that the starting dose protocols vets currently use aren't as bad as they used to be (in most cases). The bad news is that they aren't good enough. Same is true for dose changes based on the retests. Dealing with a hyperthyroid cat is often about patience, especially when it comes to methimazole dosing.
