I am on a noheat service call where I find the circuit breaker on the transformer tripped. HVAC troubleshooting the low voltage short. I start troubleshooting the RTU low voltage short. First I disconnect the 24 volt R terminal. Thereby disconnecting the power to the thermostat. I check the wire to ground and trace the wire. Finally, I find the wire has shorted to the unit.
