Geoffroy’s Daggerbill is a small hummingbird found from Venezuela through Colombia and Ecuador to Southeast Peru.
Its beak is wedge shaped coming to a sharp point. The upperparts are bronzy green turning coppery down by the rump. The gorget is greenish or aqua colored with two patches of pinkish violet at the sides and there is a long white line behind the eyes.
This little hummingbird is particularly dear to me, as he happens to sport the colors of the Hummingbird Spot logo!
