Hugo Olierook, from Curtin University, will be presenting "Pink diamonds: the science behind the craze" for Geological Society of Australia WA chapter's May 2024 technical presentation in Perth, 1st May 2024.

With the closure of the Argyle diamond mine, which produced more than 90% of pink diamonds from the 1980s to 2020, the hunt is on to find more of these elusive gems. Yet it wasn’t fully clear what ingredients are required to find a new treasure trove of diamonds. Our work provides insights into where the next trove of pinks may be found, with work already ongoing.
