The key to using silicone egg rings is to get the pan, the oil (or butter,water etc) and the ring itself good and hot before adding the egg.
If there is no sizzle when adding the egg the pan etc wasn't hot enough and the egg will cook slowly and may seep under the ring and gradually seal itself to the ring.
If the oil and pan are both good and hot the egg will begin cooking immediately and form a seal that stops it leaking and also stops it clinging to the ring later on.
