How to Trim Your Eyebrows

Not sure how to trim your eyebrows? Trimming your eyebrows is something that quite often gets overlooked when it comes to eyebrow waxing or eyebrow maintenance. This step in the grooming process is actually pretty easy, but it can also easily turn into a disaster if you don’t know what you’re doing. So I’m here to help!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1. Spoolie this looks like a mascara brush and helps you brush your eyebrow hairs in the same direction.
2. Brow Scissors Do not use just any scissors to trim your eyebrows! I only recommend using scissors that have a curve to them, but you can also use regular eyebrow scissors.
3. Tweezers these are optional. I just like having them just in case after you trim your eyebrows, you might find some stray hairs that aren’t supposed to be there.

Start by brushing your eyebrow hairs up and out at the tail. Make sure you brush all the hairs in the direction of the hair growth so that you can avoid any holes or gaps. The eyebrow hairs growing closest to the middle of your face or the inner corner of your eye will most likely grow straight up. Then the rest of the hair should grow at a slight angle, around 45 degrees.

Ok now it’s time to start trimming your eyebrow hair. Start by only trimming a little bit, remember that you can always trim more, but once you trim too much, you have to wait for it to grow back. So I just take short shallow snips to ensure I don’t go too far and create an unnecessary hole in the brow.

Once I do my initial trim, I’ll then use the spoolie and brush the hairs back into their normal place to see how it looks. Then, depending on how it looks, I will either brush them back up and trim some more, or stop if I’m happy with the length.

After you’re done trimming, this is when you might have to use the tweezers. Sometimes trimming your eyebrows can expose a couple of hairs that aren’t supposed to be there. So if you see any that are out of place, feel free to tweeze them.
