The double Pitzen knot is my absolute favorite knot for all applications when using a fluorocarbon leader or fluorocarbon main line, but it is just as effective for braid or monofilament. This is the knot I truly trust to NEVER break on a fish. It's simple, and dare I say FUN to tie. The only downside to the double Pitzen knot is that it can consume a good amount of your leader with the excessive tag ends. Make sure to tie on a longer leader to compensate for the line you'll be losing with the tag ends.
