The bead or peg egg is a killing rig for both the fly and conventional angler when fishing during or after the spawn. Trout, salmon, and steelhead can't stop themselves from snapping up eggs as they flood the waters each spring and fall, and the bead egg is the most productive and humane rig to fish during these feeding frenzies. Unlike a traditional egg fly pattern or baitegg that trout can easily swallow and have a tendency to cause greater mortality, the bead egg rig always cleanly hooks the fish on the corner of the mouth.
