Need to learn how to replace your REAR UPPER CONTROL ARMS on your 20032009 Toyota 4Runner? Well, then this video is for you. If I can do it...you can do it!

This video is certainly on the longer side; feel free to skip around. I'd rather the viewer have more than enough tips/tricks to tackle this job. If the cost is to make you suffer through more of my talking, then so be it.

The vehicle I worked on in this video was a 2004 Toyota 4Runner Limited V6

Rear Upper Control Arm Directions:

0) Jack up rear of car by frame
1) Remove loose dirt and use penetrant spray on bolts/nuts and let soak for at least a few minutes
2) Use wrench to keep bolts (17 mm) from moving while using impact wrench to remove NUTS (17 mm)
3) Remove upper control arm and clean area
4) Install new upper control arm and ensure a washer (or any removed hardware) is replaced
5) Torque down to 59 ftlbs for all (4) control arm bolts (17 mm) when vehicle is on ground


Torque Specs (Feel free to verify for yourself):
Rear Upper Conrol Arm Bolt/Nut (at [simulated] ride height): 59 ftlbs
Lug Nuts: 83 ftlbs
