Who wouldn't want to know How To Rank Your Business Higher on Google For 2023 but let's be honest if I took a trip to California to find out how local SEO works it wouldn't prove helpful. If I
had 10 minutes with the head of local ranking in Google and asked for the 7 most important ranking factors for 2023 he is probably going to burst out laughing!

In today's video, I'm going to take the Whitspark report to break it down so it's easy for you to know what to do for your business. I will then show you what's important for 2023 and what has changed for Local Search Ranking Factors

So Google changes the priority in its algorithm, you may have heard videos a few years ago say, it's all about reviews, it's all about citations on yellow pages and NAP consistency, but actually it's not that so much. Ther are 132 potential factors that local search experts think Google might use to rank businesses
What is the report? it's reverse engineering A survey where the top experts in local search across many topics determine what’s working to drive rankings and conversions in local SEO, and what’s not. It's based on over a decade of analysis, experience, research, and local experts testing

And most notably, there has been a significant increase in the perceived importance of GMB signals.

The study showed these areas are including:
Primary GMB category
Keywords in the GMB business title
The proximity of address to the searcher
Physical address in the city of search
Additional GMB categories"

There has been a steady increase in the perceived importance of reviews. This makes sense.

Presence of NAP
Keywords in Titles, Domain Authority
Inbound Anchor Text, Linking Domain Authority, Linking Domain Quantity

There has been a steady decrease in the perceived importance of citations.
Location data, internet Yellow pages, NAP name address phone number consistency, citations volume

Search history, search location, device
