That means that you don't need to worry about "near me" to rank, but it is still important to rank for that, if possible.

Some ways that you can improve your chances of getting into page 1 of Google Maps for a local search is to have your business address shown, have accurate hours and service areas you serve, and embed that map and address onto your website. You can also increase your chances of being shown on page 1 of Google by getting on relevant thirdparty sites where you can list your address, phone number, name, and more. For example, building a relevant page on LinkedIn or getting on a relevant local directory are great ways to boost local search intent.
