The making and extracting of pure nitrates did not have its origins in agriculture, but in warfare .. at one time, numerous methods were practiced routinely by .. well, just about everyone. Although I will not demonstrate the procedure for extracting nitrate crystals from this variation of the Swiss Method, the Black earth that is left in the barrel after one year may be used in exactly the same way one would use 101010 bagged fertilizer.
