How To Make Cheese and Chive Scones

Recipe

Ingredients make 15

500 g self raising flour
10 g salt
100 g butter
350 ml milk
10 g finely chopped chives
30 g finely chopped red capsicum
100 g shredded cheddar cheese
50 g parmesan

Method

Preheat the oven to 220°C normal bake (fan forced) 200°C. Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Shred the cold butter and use your hands to rub the butter into the flour until it resembles bread crumbs. Add milk, cheese, chives and capsicum, mix to form a dough. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and pat the dough into a 3 cm thickness. Cut out the scones with a 5cm scone cutter and transfer to a lightly floured tray and bake for approx. 12 min. until golden brown on top.

Note: For more flavour add 80 g. finely chopped bacon, ½ tsp white pepper and ¼ tsp nutmeg.
