In this video you will learn how to make a master production schedule step by step through an example involving decisions associated with capacity, disaggregation of aggregate planning, two sources of demand and two product references.

What to produce, how much to produce, and when to produce it, are the types of decisions you make when making a master production schedule.

The master plan determines which are the concrete references to plan from what was previously defined in the aggregate planning, so it is a great example to understand concepts mentioned in previous videos and in the Ingenio Empresa website.


Some adjustments to the explanation in the video:
At minute 12:18 I mention that there are 24 hours left to achieve the production of 600 units which is the required capacity. The mail would be to say that there are 24 hours to achieve the production of 2000 units which is equivalent to 600 hours (the required capacity).

At minute 14:08 when applying a rule of 3 I mention that one unit of reference A is produced in 0.3 hours, when in reality it should be one unit of reference B is produced in 0.3 hours. Note that this in no way affects the calculation or final result of the exercise.
