We built a rustic sliding barn door for our RV bathroom a few years ago, but receive a lot of questions about it, so here’s a quick reference to how we created it.

This door is fairly lightweight and so is the DIY sliding barn door hardware. Back when we created this project, sliding barn door hardware kits were either expensive or heavy, so the DIY route was a great option. With that said, you can now find a ton of options, especially on Amazon. We hope this video will help give you some ideas or at the very least guide you in deciding if this is the right option for you and your situation. We plan to update the bathroom door next week with actual barn door hardware, so keep an eye out on how the two options compare.

For the hardware supplies, you can find most of it at your local hardware store such as Lowe’s or Home Depot. I’ll link to some of the more rustic hardware we purchased from Amazon below.
