How to lubricate your garage door! A quick and easy stepbystep tutorial on how to properly lubricate a garage door. Garage door maintenance is essential to maintain proper operation, prevent it from being stuck, and to ensure you don’t hear squeaky noises.

Is your garage door making a squeaky noise? After watching this video, you’ll know all the tips and tricks to properly lubricate your garage door like a pro! This garage door maintenance should be performed every six months, or as recommended by your garage door supplier.

Remove any cars from the garage.
Make sure the garage door is closed and disengage the door from the opener for safety.
Use a white lithium grease based lubricant to lubricate all the hinges, springs, bearings, rollers, and pivot points, as shown in this video. See below for some links to good garage door lubricants.
Don’t oil the tracks. Rather, clean them using a rag.
Once these simple tasks are completed, simply open and close the garage door a couple of times to work the lubricant in all the moving parts.
