In this video, house flipping brothers Dave and Rich show you how to keep your hands warm in cold weather.

Dave and Rich need to work outside on a regular basis when renovating houses. They have figured out a great way to keep warm when working outside in the Winter, which is a two step process.

The first step is to wear layered clothing. It is a good idea to wear two layers of socks, two pairs of pants, or long underwear and pants. In this video, Rich wears 4 layers of clothing on his torso. He wears a tshirt, warm shirt, hooded sweatshirt, and very warm Army jacket over everything.

In addition, Rich wears two layers on his head. He has a very warm wool hat that covers his jaw and sides of his head. Over that he pulls his hooded sweatshirt.

The second tip for surviving harsh outside conditions is dealing with hands. In this video Rich wears 2 layers of gloves. He has a very thin set of gloves, but over those he is wearing a very thick set of gloves.

The tip is that no matter how many gloves you wear, over time your fingers will go numb in extreme cold conditions if they are in gloves because the fingers are separated. So the trick is to get your fingers together, just like they would be in a mitten.

Keep your gloves on, but simply pull your fingers out of the finger part of your gloves and make a fist. Then move your fingers towards your palm, like you a tapping a on desk. Do this for about 30 seconds. The warmth generated from this motion will bring the blood circulation back into your hands and your fingers will be completely warmed.

Your fingers will be warmed for a period of time, but if it is extremely cold, you will have to repeat this process over and over again, depending on how long you are outside.
