On this episode of Survivor I replaced some parts in the shower faucet in my house. For the last few months it was really hard to turn on/ off the water. Finally she broke and we got nothing at all. So since I'm cheap I didn't call a plumber right away and did some Google searching before coming across the right info. There weren't any markings on the plumbing or handle that said what model I had. House was built in the 90's and found the markings 18899 on the brass which don't bring up a whole lot. By on trial and error found it was a Moen 1225 (same as 1225b). After shutting off the water to the house below are the steps.

How to Install:
1. Buy the authentic Moen part & plumbers grease
2. Put a stopper in the drain to catch any stray parts.
3. Unscrew/ remove everything you can from around the cartridge
4. Remove the retaining pin & washer
5. Use the white plastic tool to loosen the cartridge
6. Pull cartridge free.
7. Remove any debris from cavity
8. Lube and install new cartridge
9. Replace pin, washer
10. Turn on water and test

If not then take apart and troubleshoot and blame foreigners like Trump does.
