In this video, I will show you one way to install a temporary roof anchor for a fall protection safety body harness. I'll also show you how to uninstall it and put your roof back together so it's watertight.

In 2019 my 60ishyearold neighbor fell off his roof and broke his back. Thankfully he wasn't paralyzed but he had a long and difficult recovery ahead of him. This unfortunate event got me thinking a lot about fall protection.

Whatever body harness you buy, make sure it has "ANSI Z395" on the label. I'd recommend buying the one that is the easiest to use and the most comfortable. The more convenient it is for you, the more likely you are to use it, I know that's true for me. This reality also has me considering installing permanent roof anchors to make safe roof work more convenient for myself or anyone else in the future. "Build for the years you cannot see" Emily P.
