2. Best Quality Pet Food

Dogs and cats eat every day. So, pet food is very important to their health and longevity. In other words, if they keep eating poor quality food, they may have allergies, skin diseases, and tears. In severe cases, they can have diseases like heart disease and kidney failure. Or they even die.

Sadly, there are many commercial pet food companies that produce low quality pet food made of 4D meats (Dead, Dying, Diseased, Disabled) to have a higher profit margin. In 2019, it was reported that the body of an abandoned dog euthanized at an animal shelter was used to produce pet food in Korea. Unfortunately, most manufacturers do not disclose the manufacturing process and raw ingredients. Also, there is no regulation about this in the Control of Livestock and Fish Feed Act in Korea. Rather, you may refer to global certificates such as health certificates by USDA APHIS. It’ because it inspects manufacturing facilities, ingredients and recalls every year.

No matter how good food is, overfeeding can lead to obese dogs and cats. Obesity can lead to various diseases, such as heart disease and arthritis. The Veterinary Associations such as WSAVA and FECAVA recognize obesity as a disease.
