Here is a quick walkthrough of everything you need to start scalloping. Scalloping is a fun, family activity that brings you closer to nature. We have made it a point to do an annual scallop trip with friends and family and made some of our best memories doing so. Scalloping is excellent for beginners and advanced water babies. Typically you are only snorkeling in three to six feet of water. Some of the items you need include a good mask and snorkel. I like the snorkel that helps keep water from entering your breath tube. It would help if you also had some neoprene socks; the socks protect your ankles from chafing and discomfort from your fins. The constant rubbing on bare skin can irritate the skin. A mesh bag will allow you to add your scallops to the bag as you go; this way, you don't have to keep swimming back to the boat to unload. Grandpa always said to work smarter, not harder.
