Over the past 15 to 20 years the spring loaded or #popupwaste has become very popular, but unfortunately not without its own problems . Many of the #springloaded pop up wastes were and are still installed inside of hand basins which made maintenance relatively easy, it is the ones which are installed inside of bath tubs where the real issues pop up!
If you cannot physically gain access to the underside of the spring loaded waste then there could be a long and expensive task ahead of you. If the entire plug and waste needs to be replaced access to the underside of this two piece mechanism is going to be required. With relation to bath tubs sometimes a few tiles on the side of the bath hob may need to be carefully removed?
