This is a video about impulse control and how it relates to everything in dog training and behavior modification. All bad behavior has it's roots in impulse control. Impulsive dogs act out without thinking. I am going to do a series on methods that are easy to follow and to do but require you to be firm and to follow through. You won't believe the changes that can occur when you stop focusing on the "bad" behavior and focus on teaching your dog to control itself through impulse control. My chocolate girl Nikita, demonstrates extreme self control in this video. This type of training is suitable for all breeds of dogs and can be started at around six weeks of age for very short sessions and as you will see in this video will build until the dog has extreme self control. Dogs with impulse control appear to be calm, but even a hyper dog can and must have impulse control in order to be under control because making a hyper dog tired is nearly impossible and is no substitute for training.
